Flume Gorge New Hampshire August 26 2010

This was the first hike we took when arriving for our anniversary weekend up in New Hampshire.

Discovered in 1808, the Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of Conway granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart.

Beautiful place. How long was the hike?

This was just a two mile loop. We walked this the first day we got there since we arrived after noon and went to a few places to get trail info for the few days that we were there. Our second day we went on a very tough trail. I had sore legs for a few days after that..
